The Prettie Girls Dolls are created by, African American Doll Creator, Stacey McBride-Irby. The dolls are made to influence a positive self image in girls of color. The thing that I first noticed is that the does are not all the same with just different skin tone and hair color. Each doll has unique features, well throughout style and a positive back story. There are five dolls in the collection.
Lena, a black doll, is currently available for only $21.95. “The Wiz Kid” (Lena) will make a great gift for a little black girl as well as a great gift for your collection of black baby dolls.
Valencia, a Hispanic doll, is also available for only $21.95. Valencia is guaranteed to have any little Hispanic girl thinking about eating healthy meals and staying active.
Three more dolls are set to be released in March of 2014. I am definitely going to add all 5 dolls to my collection, starting with Lena and Valencia.
